Reverend Byron E. Sanders hails from the West Side of Detroit, Michigan. He comes to Second Baptist Church with over a decade of Youth and Young Adult Ministry experience. He has developed a multi-generational model that allows him to unify the family. Reverend Sanders describes himself as a bridge-builder. Reverend Sanders’ fervent and transformative ministry transcends many barriers. Race, gender, age, education, economic status, and, even, spiritual maturity simply do not deter him. Reverend Sanders attributes this to his upbringing in a culturally diverse environment. His compassion and eagerness to share Christ and His Cross enables a broad array of individuals to comprehend and, ultimately, apply biblical principles in their lives. Having experienced his own personal loss, Reverend Sanders can personally relate to those who need to hear God’s Word and be reminded of God’s loving promises in their moments of despair.

Reverend Sanders has been employed in the financial services industry for over fifteen years. Most of that time has been with JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. where he was a Private Client Banker. Reverend Sanders enjoys working in the financial services industry as this allows him to counsel families on sensitive financial matters adding an ethereal viewpoint to what is oftentimes approached in a temporal manner.

In November 2019, Reverend Sanders enrolled in the Master of Divinity Program at The Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University. His expected graduation date is the Summer of 2022. He has studied at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and Moody Theological Seminary. He has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Michigan State University.

Reverend Sanders has two children—Jackson and J. Madison. He is the youngest of three children. His parents are Willie and Juanita Sanders of Detroit, Michigan.

Byron E. Sanders is a man of God with a heart for Kingdom building! It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that he touches the lives of those who seek God’s salvation and sanctification by presenting real and relevant applications of the Word of God.
